OPEN DOORS NY: PORTFOLIO REVIEWS: GRAPHIC DESIGN

AIGA/NY opens their doors to 12 designers to have their portfolios reviewed by successful professionals in the field. If you’re looking for a job or feel like your work needs a good dusting, this is your chance to get professional feedback.

Glen Cummings, Partner, MTWTF
Glen is the founding partner of MTWTF, a graphic design studio specializing in publications, environmental graphics and identity systems and engages in collaborative projects with partners in other disciplines, such as architecture, industrial design, and urban planning.

Mr. Cummings received a B.F.A. from the School of The Art Institute of Chicago and a M.F.A. in Graphic Design from Yale University School of Art. in 2002 to 2008 Mr Cummings art director at 2×4 in New York City leading projects for MTV, Prada, Chanel, Dallas Center for the Performing Arts, and the Muhammad Ali Center. His work has been published and acknowledged by the American Institute of Architects, the American Institute of Graphic Arts, Interior Design Magazine, and New York Times Magazine, and it has been exhibited by the AIGA and the San Francisco Museum of Modern Art. Mr. Cummings was appointed lecturer in Graphic Design at Yale University School of Art in 2002, where he teaches a Graduate Studio in Exhibition Design.

Juan Astasio, Designer, MTWTF
Juan received a BFA from Complutense University of Madrid. In 2005 he was an Erasmus fellow at the Photography department of Aalto University Shool of Art and Design in Helsinki. In 2009-2011 he was a ‘La Caixa’ fellow (similar to Fulbright) at Yale University School of Art where he earned an MFA in Graphic Design. Juan has worked as a graphic and multimedia designer at Istituto Europeo di Design in Madrid (2006-2007) and he participated in the conception of the Spanish edition of Esquire magazine as a senior designer. His work has been featured at the 4th International Typography Congress in Valencia (Spain), the “Fresh Blood” series of AIGA New York, and has been published by Graphic Magazine and Index Book.

Juan is a designer at MTWTF leading projects for the Museum of Modern Art, Lincoln Center Theater, The MTA, Arthur Ross Architecture Gallery at Columbia University, and Housing Works.
