DUMBO CIRCUIT: Public Charrette

You are invited to participate in a public charrette to help the DUMBO community figure out what an urban gym could look, feel and be like. The DUMBO CIRCUIT is a pop-up, 1-mile outdoor fitness loop activating eight park spaces in surrounding the BQE and Brooklyn and Manhattan Bridges. Initiated by DUMBO Business Improvement District (BID), funded by a SBS Neighborhood Challenge grant program, and developed in collaboration with AIGA/NY, the Circuit aims to activate open space, improve public health and connect DUMBO to neighboring communities through the power of graphic design.

The DUMBO CIRCUIT project is a participatory project that aims to be inclusive of the diverse populations that constitute this neighborhood of Brooklyn, from its creative class to public housing residents. To kickstart the project’s public engagement, an “open house” style charrette, led by design finalist HUSH in collaboration with AIGA/NY, will invite, through interactive workshop activities, local community stakeholders to participate and brainstorm about ideas for this fitness loop to be.
