AIGA/NY COMMUNITY COMMITTEE

Founded in September of 2010, the Community Committee works to make the New York Chapter even more connected and kick-ass. We host low-pressure events focused on meeting new people through involvement in an activity, even if that activity is simply eating and drinking.

Initiatives this year have included:
Let’s Bowl! Again! / Designer Bowling Championship at Chelsea Piers
Handmade Workshops / at Etsy
Winter Bash! / Talk by Debbie Millman and Live Karaoke at Galapagos

We also host PostScripts!

These are the ever-so-fun and popular events after the events. We figured with so many talented and interesting people already gathered in one place, why not take time to get to know one another? We promote a post-event location where attendees and speakers alike can relax and exchange ideas. And when we are able to partner with a gracious sponsor, we happily provide food. Drinks are usually on you.

Committee Members are emerging leaders with a desire to cultivate a supportive design community. We meet regularly to plan events of relevance, which we work to promote through our individual networks.

We’re just getting started, and the future looks bright. Stay tuned!
