The office of the NY chapter is located in the AIGA
National Design Center (we don't own the building, we pay rent) in
Manhattan.
On the ground floor is the AIGA gallery, which hosts a range of exhibitions of interest to members. Also in the building is the little-known but well-stocked design library, available for use by any AIGA member by appointment only. Come visit!

Design Your Life with Ellen Lupton
Ellen Lupton has been Cooper-Hewitt’s curator of contemporary design since 1992. Her new book, Design Your Life: The Pleasures and Perils of Everyday Things (St. Martin’s Press, May 2009), is co-authored with her twin sister Julia. Design Your Life takes an irreverent and realistic look at everything from toasters, bras, and pillows to housekeeping and procrastination. Speaking to readers who are both design-conscious and consumer-wary, Design Your Life taps into the popular interest in design as well as people’s desire to make their own way through a mass-produced world. The book, and others by Ellen Lupton, will be available for purchase and signing.
