SMALL TALKS SERIES:
Extra large ideas find an intimate home in a formal setting. Small Talks at Bumble and bumble are opportunities to explore a panoply of visual ephemera, flights of fancy and literal brilliance. Passions will be exposed, methods unveiled, and stories shared in a series designed to provoke, inspire and delight.

Felix Sockwell is an ornery Texan, having honed his skill as a promotional and advertising art director for DDB and The Richards Group before moving to San Francisco in early 1997. While there he joined designer Brian Collins (then at FCB) and flew to NY co- founding Rick Boyko's infamous BIG; The Brand Integration Group at Ogilvy. Unable to endure the sweltering politics and 18 hour shifts, Sockwell left within a year to concentrate soley on the art and science of identity design and illustration. He frequents NYC to meet with clients and friends, but prefers Maplewood, New Jersey with his wife and two beautiful girls, Brooke and Natalie.

Steve Frykholm has been largely responsible for furniture icon Herman Miller Inc.'s image and graphic identity–its posters, annual reports, and other collateral literature–for the past 35 years. Herman Miller, Inc. hired Steve to be its first internal graphic designer soon after he graduated from Cranbrook Academy of Art. Prior to college, Steve taught in Nigeria with the U.S. Peace Corps.

Peter Bell is the Creative Director and a principal of Fairly Painless Advertising in Holland, Michigan. The agency serves a diverse client base, from sole proprietorship to Fortune 100. Fairly Painless clients include Herman Miller, Inc., Spartan Stores, Spectrum Health and Johnson Controls, Inc. Peter began his career as a copywriter in Denver, Colorado, later working in Boston as the associate creative director on the EMC account, and in Grand Rapids, Michigan on the Sara Lee Deli account, prior to starting Fairly Painless.
